Inspired by Pat Passlof's lifelong study of astrology, the I Ching and divination, this workshop invites participants into the Eighth House, the zodiac house of relationships, endings and regeneration. Each person casts charms onto a floor-sized chart and uses where they land as prompts for automatic writing. No experience with astrology or writing is needed, just curiosity and a willingness to let chance lead.

A lecture built around Jung’s famous Golden Scarab example of synchronicity, exploring the shared ground between magical and artistic practice: symbols, abstraction, intuition, chance, and the pull of the unseen. I will discuss how artists have long used these forces to make images that carry meaning beyond the rational, and how attention to meaningful coincidence can open up new ways of working in the studio. The lecture will end with a hands-on participatory session.
